Creation of a “green village”, protection and promotion of the Site of FIATOE | FAGAD MLTV3 KPEKPETA | 2023-03-10 - 2025-12-31 | ENVI,AGRI,CULT | Age: 18 - 70

Our local partner ther is the village development committee and the project nursery group with FAO. With them we work for environmental protection, site protection TUTUTO. A cultural heritage site.

Work: Theme: Creation of a “green village”, protection and promotion of the Site of FIATOE (Element of the national cultural patrimony of Togo) FAGAD wants to create a village where the population can concentrate on good management of its territory in an ecological framework. (Habitats, areas which can be cultivated, areas for leisure activities, a botanic garden with medicinal plants). The streets will be the color of trees. Work to be done: Make the population aware of the management of the territory and planning activities; Planting and maintenance of trees ; Tracing out the streets ; Creation of seed beds; Assistance in the schools; Assistance in the dispensary; Assistance to tour guides; Search for partners. Search for partners. Period: open all the year round Items the volunteer can bring: Items for school studies, clothes, pharmaceutical products, little financial contributions. Artistic activities; Learn the techniques of batik and sculpture Cultural Activities: Percussion (Djembé) and dance around the fire Day with a family; a day of immersion in the life of an African family organized around the following themes: animism, the election of the village chief, traditional marriage, or a day in the field.

Accomodation and food: Volunteers will be accommodated in a house (local not modern) setting available by villagers. A kpékpéta there is no electricity. The toilet and shower are traditional. Some villagers use the solar panels to charge devices like lamps and FAGAD does. Mattresses are provided by FAGAD each volunteer. Food is Togolese, African, European and often through. What is certain, foods on our sites are appreciated by the volunteers. Everything is done by volunteers themselves. They are often helped by the population.

Location and Leisure: Location Kpékpéta is a village of around 2 000 inhabitants. It is situated 30 kms from the town of Adeta, the main center for the Prefecture Kpélé – Adeta: the large town where a Post Office, a bank, a police station and medical – social center are to be found. Access to Kpékpéta is complicated by the fact that the road is in a very bad state of repair. This has not left the Togolais government indifferent leading, in the near future, to a programme of road work.Kpékpéta has a primary school, a dispensary and a little market which is open every Saturday. Major needs for food and other products are met by an expedition to Kati or to Adeta. The main activity in the area is agriculture. The village has no access to electricity: therefore any initiative leading to the installation of system of solar panels is to be encouraged. Nearby touristic attractions:  Fuentes Farm circuit ( Adeta….monastries of DanyiDzogbegan and Fuentes Farm together with the America hospital at Tsiko)  Kloto circuit ( Mount Kloto, whence it is possible to catch a glimpse of Lake Volta in Ghana: Kamalo Falls, artisanal centre at Kpalimé, Kpalimé market.)  Circuit AgouWomé( Agou Peak, the highest in Togo, Womé Falls, Kpalimé market.)  Circuit Kpélé ( KpéléLonda Falls or Dzanipé with its beautiful Falls, TsavièAltar of Rest.)  Circuit Toutou – to ( FIATOE site, communal forest of FAO Kpékpéta and Agbomé, Peul village. ) OTHER POSSIBILITIES : Possibility to discover also Northern Togo ( large cities like Atakpamé, Sokodé, and Kara, Aledjo Fault ( the road passes through the rock ), Tamberma country, Niamtougou Falls…) and the Nangbeto Dam with the pond for hippopotamus.cation and lessieur

Requirements: For these projects, the participation of 390 euros is monthly. To have the total of the participation costs you will multiply the 390 Euros by the number of months that you will do. hope to see soon motivated and fexible volunteers .NB: if you are not from partener association or from organisation member of CCIVS, you ll pay 170 euros more for registration fees and solidarity funds.
