During those 2 weeks, we will organize 2 Global Youth Camps at Thai Hai ecological ethnic stilt house village conservation area. Each camp would take 4 days and 3 nights and involve different Vietnamese youth from 14 to 17 years old. We will keep 1 or 2 days in between to relax, evaluate, and prepare for the next one. The activities and camp’s daily life organized by volunteers should be strongly connected with our community values, authenticity, responsibility and inclusion. Besides, they should allow children to be in a harmonious and safe environment. We welcome all motivated volunteers to join us in making a change in Vietnamese Youth and learn great things from the local community as well.

Work: International volunteers will support the campleaders in all activities during the camps by, preparing activities, leading different subgroups of participants; encouraging participants to get involved in every single activity; observing and giving feedback on the personal development of participants; introducing their own cultures; sharing ideas/opinions on different topics of the camps. We expect the groups of 15-20 teenagers maximum mainly aged from 14 to 17 years old. The teenagers will stay with us and so taking care of daily life which is as important as other activities. We expect all of us to be fully active and responsible for the teenagers and planning for activities. One person involved in this camp would need to lead at least one activity for the teenagers. Before it starts, we will organize an online preparation to brainstorm what we are going to do, who is the leader for which session, and so on. Any idea is welcome such as art, sport, games, English lessons (basic), theatre, cooking, gardening, or recycling. The main aims of the camp are to promote international volunteerism, and cultural differences and encourage young people to join different meaningful activities in an international work camp environment to develop themselves as global active citizens. The objectives of this work camp are: - To give international volunteers a chance to connect and share with Vietnamese youth regarding cultural differences and social orientation. - To enhance participants’ personal development, creativity and critical thinking as well as teamwork and leadership skills. - To raise awareness of sustainable lifestyles and global citizenship - To promote global understanding and friendship through intercultural learning. - To exchange culture between the participants and local people. - To introduce the unique culture of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam. Location: ThaiNguyen

Location and Leisure: The camps will take place in a nice and friendly village called THAI HAI (in Thai Nguyen Province), 2 hours by local bus from Hanoi. Thai Hai is located in Thai Nguyen province, approximately 80km to the north of Hanoi. It preserves 30 original stilt houses of two ethnic minority groups (Tay and Nung). Visitors can experience daily life of the local people here, such as living in a stilt house, discovering traditional customs and activities, tasting delicious foods, enjoying traditional songs and experiencing folk games. The village is located in a peaceful valley with the nearest urban area around 10km away. Living in the village, visitors can enjoy the beautiful natural environment and typical food from the region. The villagers have their own organic garden which provides the majority of vegetables for the villagers and visitors.
