In the Animal Care project people care for animals and animals care for people. The project aims to pro- mote and protect some of the most vulnerable animals in Nepal, especially dogs. The project is much more than a shelter for animals in that it practices and promotes caring and friendly behavior towards animals. We are looking for those whose hearts are warm and loving, and beat for the welfare of the neglected animals of Nepal.

Work: Daily Activities-Work at animal care centers.-Spend quality one-on-one time with the animals.-Provide exercise for the dogs by taking them for a walk-Care and bathe/groom animals and keep shelter clean.-Help promote friendly behavior towards animals.

Accomodation and food: The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.

Location: KATHMANDU

Location and Leisure: The Animal Centre is located in Gokarnaswor, Nepal.VIN also organizes weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at an additional cost if you are interested.

Requirements: We accept volunteers twice monthly, on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. You are required to arrive a day before your project start date. -Basic English should be spoken among the participants - Physically sound as per the project requirements.

A VIN staff member will pick up volunteers from the airport. Please send your flight details in advance so we can provide a name card with the VIN logo.
