Our Elderly Care Project affords you the opportunity to help fulfill the social and personal requirements of senior Nepali citizens. With care and compassion, you can assist them in living old age with the dignity they deserve. This project aims to provide assistance to senior citizens and safeguard their rights in their daily activities, but additionally (and just as importantly) in socializing; lending a friendly ear open to chitchat, life experiences, and reminiscing

Work: Daily Activities-Spend time with and get to know the elderly.-Ensure measures are in place to maintain their health and cleanliness.-Ensure measures are put into place to preserve and promote an active life for theelderly.-Assist elderly support organization teams. Conduct research on existing practices to support elderly people.

Accomodation and food: The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.

Location: KATHMANDU

Location and Leisure: The elderly care center in Lapsephedi, a peaceful village 40 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. Set in the foothills of the Himalayas, this community offers:-Stunning views of terraced fields and lush greenery.-A serene environment perfect for cultural immersion and personal growth.VIN also organizes weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at an additional cost if you are interested.

Train/Bus station: Tribhuvan International Airport

Requirements: Elderly care placement cost 100 EUR Extra and 50 EUR extra for transportation.We accept volunteers twice monthly, on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. You are required to arrive a day before your project start date. -Basic English should be spoken among the participants - Physically sound as per the project requirements.

A VIN staff member will pick up volunteers from the airport. Please send your flight details in advance so we can provide a name card with the VIN logo.
