Has the idea of giving back crossed your mind? Have you talent/know-how to donate? VIN put together the computer technology project in recognition of information technology as a fast-moving, efficient means of communication. As things stand, there is a severe shortage of IT-know-how in Nepal. The country will need to do much to improve, let alone catchup, with the outside world and join the IT-age. Help Nepal get ahead Your participation is key to providing them these tools.

Work: Possible Daily activities-Teach basic IT in public/community schools as well as their teachers, community youth and women.-Or/And help out in the main VIN office to maintain/improve VIN s website.-Teach computer and internet skills to local teachers.

Accomodation and food: The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.

Location: KATHMANDU

Location and Leisure: Jitpurphedi is a community in Tarakeshwor Municipality, located 10-15 km from Kathmandu s main ring road, surrounded by hills, fields, and woods. You can go sightseeing at various sites around the community. Siddhicharan Municipality, Ward 2, Nisankhe-Nestled in Okhaldhunga district, about 250 km from Kathmandu. -Accessible via local jeep (8i10 hours). -Scenic hills, fertile farmland, and dense forests surround it. For more details about the region, visit www.ntchc.org.VIN also organizes weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at an additional cost if you are interested.

Requirements: We accept volunteers twice monthly, on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. You are required to arrive a day before your project start date. -Basic English should be spoken among the participants - Physically sound as per the project requirements.

A VIN staff member will pick up volunteers from the airport. Please send your flight details in advance so we can provide a name card with the VIN logo.
