FILM and DOCUMENTARY MAKING | VINLMTV26-11-A | 2026-01-04 - 2027-01-04 | SOCI | Age: 18 - 70

Write, shoot, direct and edit your own film or documentary in alluringly beautiful Nepal as a volunteer or an intern. Learn by doing coupled with valuable feedback from industry experts. You will either choose to work to shoot a film/documentary about the work of VIN or work together with one of the film/documentary studios in Nepal with which VIN has a cooperation.

Work: Your Activities-Engage in the pre-production, production and post-production of your own film.-Learn and receive support and feedback from a Nepali production team (when producing your own film).-Get back-up from a facilitator/interpreter when filming for VIN.

Accomodation and food: The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.

Location: KATHMANDU

Location and Leisure: Jitpurphedi is a community in Tarakeshwor Municipality, located 10-15 km from Kathmandu s main ring road, surrounded by hills, fields, and woods. You can go sightseeing at various sites around the community. Siddhicharan Municipality, Ward 2, Nisankhe-Nestled in Okhaldhunga district, about 250 km from Kathmandu. -Accessible via local jeep (8i10 hours). -Scenic hills, fertile farmland, and dense forests surround it. Requirements: We accept volunteers twice monthly, on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. You are required to arrive a day before your project start date. -Basic English should be spoken among the participants - Physically sound as per the project requirements.

A VIN staff member will pick up volunteers from the airport. Please send your flight details in advance so we can provide a name card with the VIN logo.
