VIN is looking for a volunteer or intern photographer to shed light on some of the more pressing issues afflicting the more marginalized communities in Nepal. This is your opportunity to observe a cross- section of life in Nepal and tell their story and help raise awareness and alleviate the plight of the more disadvantaged people of Nepal. You will be joining us to document our efforts to make Nepal a better place.

Work: Your Role-Conduct research and familiarize yourself with Nepali issues.-Visit various places of pressing interest/concern.-Capture photo story issues/concerns with camera.-Through exposure contribute to improving awareness of issues in Nepal.

Accomodation and food: The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.

Location: KATHMANDU

Location and Leisure: Jitpurphedi is a community in Tarakeshwor Municipality, located 10-15 km from Kathmandu s main ring road, surrounded by hills, fields, and woods. You can go sightseeing at various sites around the community. Siddhicharan Municipality, Ward 2, Nisankhe-Nestled in Okhaldhunga district, about 250 km from Kathmandu. -Accessible via local jeep (8i10 hours). -Scenic hills, fertile farmland, and dense forests surround it. For more details about the region, visit www.ntchc.org.VIN also organizes weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at an additional cost if you are interested.

Train/Bus station: Tribhuvan International Airport

Requirements: We accept volunteers twice monthly, on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. You are required to arrive a day before your project start date. -Basic English should be spoken among the participants - Physically sound as per the project requirements.

A VIN staff member will pick up volunteers from the airport. Please send your flight details in advance so we can provide a name card with the VIN logo.
