The General Directorate of Youth (www.xuventude.xunta.es) is a department of the Xunta de Galicia (www.xunta.gal) whose priority is to meet the needs and concerns of the young population living in Galicia, firmly believing that youth has much to contribute to society as a whole. We work to improve the quality of life of young people in our autonomous community, developing actions and programs that benefit them, increase their well-being and allow them to improve their skill.

Work: Monte Sacro is a volunteering camp that invites you to travel through time by discovering and highlighting the secrets hidden within Pico Sacro and Mount Gundián—two unique sites full of symbolism located between the municipalities of Vedra and Boqueixón. During this project, volunteers will have the opportunity to explore the archaeological and legendary legacy of these locations through an experience that combines manual labor, historical learning, and a direct connection to the past. Through cleaning, site preparation, and small-scale archaeological interventions, the goal is to reveal the traces of time that remain hidden beneath the soil and within the legends surrounding these mountains. The name "Monte Sacro" reflects the central objective of the project: to give a voice to the past and recover its memory, listening to the echoes of the stories, structures, and traditions that have shaped the identity of this environment. This volunteering camp seeks to involve the community in a process of collective discovery, fostering the preservation of heritage and its transmission to future generations. Two main actions will be carried out at each location: 1. At Pico Sacro, located in Boqueixón, near San Xoán da Cova, in the municipality of Vedra, cleaning and conditioning work will be carried out on two cements, as well as a small archaeological intervention, in order to determine the state of conservation of the structures. In addition, volunteers will receive training in history, archeology and tourism, actively participating in programmed activities. 2. Documentation and records: A work report will be prepared, including photographs and notes, to keep a detailed record of the actions carried out and the spots found.

The meeting point for the reception of the participants in the work camp will be at the main entrance of the Santiago de Compostela Intermodal Station, on the first day at 4 p.m. From A Coruña to Santiago de Compostela: www.monbus.com or www.alsa.es or by train www.renfe.es. From Vigo to Santiago www.monbus.es or train (with transfer in Pontevedra). The incorporation to the work camp is in the afternoon of the first day and the departure the last day after breakfast. It is necessary to bring: • Cleaning supplies. • Sleeping bag and small backpack. • Mountain shoes, footwear and sportswear: swimsuit, bathing shoes, warm clothes, work clothes (gloves, cap / hat, ...).
